What’s Blooming in April?
The chart represents the approximate bloom times in Minnesota. Factors such as temperature and precipitation play a large role in how a plant fares year after year. Northern MN should also start a bit later and/or end a bit earlier than Southern MN.
Note that phenology has been a little unpredictable in recent years. In 2012 spring came exceptionally early (the chart below reflects that) so some plants that don't typically start blooming until May were blooming in April, or those that don't typically start blooming until the end of the month were already be blooming at the beginning of the month, some even blooming in March. In years with a longer than usual winter the opposite will likely be true. Play it by ear.
